Rosa’s Chacra

This last Saturday the wife and I took a walk with our friend Rosa and her mom to see their Chacra or ranch, during the walk I took some pictures and wanted to share some of them .

Hills above Huarocondo, Peru

Their little plot of land is located on the hill to the west overlooking the town of Huarocondo, the walk was fairly easy and took us past many small and large farms.

Being a sucker for beautiful flowers I of course had to stop every time I saw something interesting.

One of the more interesting flowers I saw was a Maracuya (or Passion Fruit) blossom.

We also saw several people out tending their crops, a good honest day’s labor as all this land is still worked by man and beast.

We had a beautiful view of the valley from Rosa’s farm, one of these days I will have to travel up the mountain farther, I am sure there are many more things to see.

As for this day we relaxed a little while and enjoyed the view.

I posed in the patch of Choclo (Peruvian corn) for a picture. And we headed back to town.

About Lyle

I love travel and currently own and operate a Bed and Breakfast called GringoWasi with my beautiful Peruvian wife, the property is located in the small town of Huarocondo, and about 30 minutes West of Cusco Peru.
